WINTER NEWSLETTER
New Website: At the time of writing we were just putting the finishing touches to our new website. All the latest results, photos and more are now available by logging on to www.swordsgolfclub.ie . If there is something you would like to see included or feel we have missed out on , please contact any of the committee.
Golfer of the Year: A stableford competition held once a month till winter rules are removed in April. It is a weekend competition so members can participate either on Saturday or Sunday.
Bonanza Day (Sunday Dec 6th): A mixed team event with a ‘shotgun start’ at 10.00am , with a meal/social in Roganstown G.C. at 5.00pm approx. Cost of the day is €35 euros for players and only €20 euros for guests who attend the social that evening. The timesheet is currently available in the clubhouse. Please note that this is a prepaid competition- those wishing to reserve a space must use the prepaid envelopes.
A.G.M. ( Tues Dec. 1st ): The men’s club A.G.M. will be held downstairs in the Lord Mayor’s, Swords at 8.00pm. We would hope that all will make an extra special effort to attend.
New Members Application Forms: Applications for membership of the club are now being entertained . Forms can be obtained from reception or downloaded from our website. Further details will be posted in the clubhouse
Winter League: The winter league will begin mid-January . It takes place over 4 weeks with a different format each week. Please see notice board for more details.
Annual Members Weekend Away: 26th to 28th March '2010. Bunclody Golf & Fishing Club. For full details check out our web site under news items.
Renewal Subscriptions: The annual subs remain unchanged at €300 for the coming year which includes Golfsure fee ( if Swords is not your HOME club the sub is €280). This MUST- MUST-MUST be paid by 1st February 2010. Failure to pay by that date may result in your membership being rescinded. (If you do not intend to renew your membership, we would appreciate if you could let us know in advance , as it allows us to bring new members in sooner. Thank you.)
Bag Tags: For those who renew membership and had purchased our new metal bag tags - we will be providing a new 2010 membership strap for your tag. Once your membership is paid, we will exchange your old strap at reception. There is no extra charge.
Fixture List: The 2010 fixture list is currently being printed and will be available late January in the clubhouse. Don’t forget to take a copy.
Queries: Just a reminder that there is a new system for any queries you may have, whether its in relation to general queries, handicap, or changes of address. Please complete the form in the clubhouse directing your query to the relevant committee member (as marked on the form), and drop it in the competition box. Please also sign and date the red ‘Query Book’ as a record of your request - which will then be initialled and dated by the committee member that will look after same.
P.S. A number of members are experiencing some difficulty with their G.U.I. Card. There has been a glitch in the system for some time and we are doing our utmost to solve the problem. Please bear with us.
